DG, ISPR Major General Athar Abbas and Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Tuesday said that Taliban will be forced to withdraw from Dir and Buner and will have to go elsewhere. Is this enough? Where will Taliban go from these places? The 19 months long military operation did not succeed in capturing or killing Fazlullah and other culprits who killed 2000 innocent people. During the various previous operations, the armed forces claimed that Taliban were forced to withdraw. But we observed that they often withdrew to surrounding areas. This policy of letting them withdraw resulted in spread of the writ of Taliban in the surrounding areas. It is high time the security forces arrested Fazlullah and all the other killers of innocent people and seized the FM Radio channel that has been used to broadcast their evil message. This is the ultimate solution of the problem we are facing. If it is not done, there would be reason to suspect there is something fishy here.
