Privileges for Senate employees okayed

ISLAMABAD The Senate Employees Welfare Committee on Thursday sanctioned financial assistance to various employees on the grounds of marriage, ailment or death and underlined the need for strengthening the fund that has been constituted to address the urgent needs of the employees of the Senate Secretariat. The meeting of the Committee was held at the Parliament House under the supervision of Chairman Senate, Farooq H Naek, and considered various options and initiatives, which could help in the well-being of the Senate employees. Senators Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Prof Khurshid Ahmad, Secretary Senate Raja Muhammad Amin, Additional Secretary Senate Amjad Parvez and other senior officials of the Senate also attended the meeting. The Chairman Senate also underscored the need to provide maximum relief to the Senate employees and observed that efforts should be made to increase the donations in the fund and spend them on welfare of the employees. It was decided that besides senators, the employees would also contribute to the fund. He termed the employees as a valuable asset of the Senate Secretariat and expressed the hope that welfare initiative would help alleviate the miseries of the low paid employees of the Senate Secretariat.
