OPSLA wants sports complex at Kharian

ISLAMABAD President Overseas Pakistani Sports Lovers Association (OPSLA), Shoukat Mehmood Bhubly has requested the government to provide land for the construction of multiple sports infrastructure in his hometown Kharian. While talking to TheNation from abroad, he revealed that OPSLA would bear all the expense of the project. We are also willing to support Pakistan in sports, he added. Shoukat further said that he was willing to create international standard sports infrastructure in the major cities of the Pakistan. I would love to start this mission from my hometown to provide international standard sports facilities to the young generation, he added. He said that OPSLA would not demand a single penny. However, the government should provide us just land and that facility will be free for all. Government may appoint its people to look after and run the facility, he said. Our aim is only to create sports facilities for the young generation and provide a way for better future. There is no sports facility in Kharian and local political leaders are not paying any attention to this, he added. Shoukat, Who is also captain of England Kabaddi team, said that OPSLA would also provide opportunities to Pakistan athletes to get training in England. Our plan is to construct an indoor hall and an open athletic track. Indoor Hall will be multi-purpose and all indoor games including volleyball, basketball, handball, badminton and table tennis facilities will be constructed, he asserted. He requested President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Sports Minister Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, President Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Syed Arif Hasan and Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Amir Hamza Gilani to support him by giving them land in Kharian.
