PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Iftikhar Hussain Thursday announced to observe one-minute silence today (Friday) to pay homage to the brave Malala Yousufzai who was attacked by armed men on October 9.Speaking at a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club, Mian Iftikhar deplored the brutal attack on a peace icon Malala Yousufzai and said this cowardly act was a bid to suppress the voice for peace and efforts for promotion of girls’ education in the country. “The entire nation stands with Malalal, who has been working on a mission of peace and education,” he said. He on the part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government also announced to observe one-minute silence at all the government offices.  Mian Iftikhar said that the prayer leaders at the Auqaf mosques were asked to offer special prayers in Jumma congregation for the early recovery of Malala Yousafzai, and also urged the entire nation to pray for the better health of the peace campaigner, who is still in critical condition. He also praised Malala’s firm commitment towards female education by raising voice against those miscreants who are blowing up schools in Swat valley, and vowed that her efforts for peace would never go waste.He maintained that Malala is a brave girl, who stood-up against the felony of militants with a mission to promote girls’ education in the province. He added that it is time to take stern action against anti-state elements to get rid of militancy and insurgency across the country and especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  The minister also said that a well-planned conspiracy against Pakistan has been hatched through banned outfits to sabotage law and order situation in the country, adding the coward attack on a teenager peace campaigner proved that Taliban has no ideology regarding implementation of Shariah.
