ISLAMABAD - Former Prime Minister and PPP Senior Vice Chairman, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, on Thursday called on President Asif Ali Zardari and exchanged views on the overall political situation in the country and preparations for the by-elections and general elections. During the one-on-one meeting, the two PPP leaders also discussed the issue of new province in Punjab.On the occasion, Gilani expressed his full confidence in the leadership of Co-Chairman PPP and President Zardari while the President said that he respects the old leaders of Pakistan People Party and considers them as the party’s asset. The former Prime Minister vowed to carry forward the vision of Benazir Bhutto that would bring to end the speculations that he is unhappy with party’s top leadership.Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik also called on the President and briefed him about the arrangements made for the treatment of Malala.
