Illegal cattle pens pose health danger

ISLAMABAD - Mushrooming cattle pens in Gulzar-e-Quaid have become a source of perpetual nuisance for the residents.
Illegal cattle pens are operating everywhere in the area and urine and waste of the buffaloes and cows have turned the area into breeding ground of mosquitoes, said Ajmal Khan, a retired government employee.
“Every night of our lives turns into sleepless night as mosquitoes continue to zoom in all the rooms and bite us,” said Muhammad Sharif, a resident. We were facing the fear of spread of dengue fever, he added.  The concerned authorities have also not taken any step for shifting these pens nor they have issued directives to milkmen to move out of this society, said Noor Mohammad, a teacher.  The residents demanded immediate shifting of the cattle pens otherwise they will be forced to hold protest demonstrations.
