KCCI assures youth of skills development


KARACHI - Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Muhammad Haroon Agar reassured Karachi Chamber’s support to provincial team of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Programme (BBSYDP) for skill development of youth in Sindh.
In a meeting with Engr Taimoor Ali, Chief Minister’s Consultant on BBSYDP and Karim Bukhsh Siddiqui, Provincial Coordinator BBSYDP, Haroon Agar President KCCI articulated that KCCI attaches high importance to youth development.
While exchanging views he said that professional and skilled youth is future of Pakistan and collective efforts of public and private sector are required to converge the unexplored talent of youth to specialised human resources.
He highlighted the dire need of producing skilled human resource as per requirements of industries. He told that KCCI and BBYSDP have already signed MoU for mutual cooperation and various joint seminars were held to promote youth development programmes. He assured the provincial coordinator BBSYDP of his cooperation to organise joint awareness seminar on training need assessment for skill development of youth.
Karim Bukhsh Siddiqui, Provincial Coordinator BBSYDP appreciated the pivotal role of KCCI to promote trade and industry to fortify national economy and creating employment opportunities.
He informed President KCCI that initiative of Sindh Government began in 2008, its continuous contribution to skill building sector has made it a symbol and guiding philosophy in Human Resource Development sector.
He maintained that for first time in Pakistan Training Need Assessment (TNA) was carried out in the sector of human resource development wherein stakeholders participated.
Nasir Mehmood Vice President and Managing Committee Members of KCCI and from BBSYDP Dr Islam Hamid, Chairman Technical Committee, Abida Lodhi Programme Coordinator, Masooma Rizvi, R&D Coordinator and other officials also participated in the meeting.
