RAWALPINDI - The RCCI and NUML have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for boosting industry-academia linkage to strengthen the national economy.
RCCI President Manzar Khurshid Sheikh and Rector NUML Major General (r) Masood Hasan inked accord in this regard in a simple ceremony held here at the Chamber.
Director General NUML Brig (r) Azam Jamal, Registrar NUML, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences and Economics, RCCI senior vice president Pervaiz Warriach, vice president Chaudhry Nadeem Rauf, group leader Najamul Haq Malik and other members of the chamber were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion president RCCI Manzar Khurshid Sheikh said that Chamber was well aware of the significance of academia-industry linkage in recent era and has already signed MoUs with eight universities of the region. He said that NUML was the ninth one and the varsity has distinct of the only language educational institute in which 26 languages including local and international was being taught.
“RCCI provide internships programs, visits to industrial units and organize Business Plan Competition among the students of the various varsities to judge the capabilities of the students and offered job opportunities to successful students”, he added.
He said that Research is mandatory for the uplift of local industry and students can conduct research work for the betterment of the industry. “RCCI platform is there to facilitate the students”, he said.
While speaking on the occasion Rector NUML Major General (r) Masood Hasan said that RCCI is playing vital role in the endorsement of local industry. He lauded the services of RCCI for the business community of the region and as well as for the national economy. He hoped that RCCI and NUML will play their pivotal role for the uplift of national exchequer.
