HAFIZABAD - Two newly-born babies died while three others are in serious condition in incubators at Children Ward of DHQ Hospital Hafizabad due to the alleged negligence of nurses and other paramedical staff. Mehwish (6 days) and Samia (10 days) died while Zahida, Nasira and Kirn are in critical condition.
While protesting against the alleged negligence of the staff, father of one of the deceased baby, Amanat Ali, a resident of Madan Philla and other parents demanded stern action against the responsible staff.
When contacted, DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Irshad Ullah Chattha said that an inquiry into the sad incident had been ordered and assured strict action against the responsible staff.  Meanwhile, the MS suspended the staff nurses and other paramedical staff concerned promptly.
