LAKKI MARWAT – People have started visiting the cattle market in Naurang Town to buy sacrificial animals for Eidul Azha. They started visiting the market from early in the morning and remained busy purchasing animals till evening. Local traders and those dealing with cattle business had brought hundreds of animals to the market. The buyers took interests in cows, bulls, goats and sheep and were seen arguing with traders on prices of animals. People did not turn to the place where camels and buffalos were kept. “The prices of sacrificial animals are unaffordable for a common man”, said a resident. He said that despite ban on cattle transportation from the limits of district the prices of sacrificial animals were high. “A goat is available from Rs 8000 to Rs 15000 while the rates of sheep are in between 15000 to 20000”, another citizen maintained. Residents told that it had become difficult for lower and middle class people to perform the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). They hoped that the process of sacrificial animals would be reduced with approaching of Edi nearer.
