Nawaz to meet sympathisers on Thursday: Marriyum Aurangzeb

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will meet with sympathisers on Thursday.

The ousted prime minister is set to meet with leaders, workers and sympathisers from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday at his Jati Umra residence on Raiwind Road in Lahore.

Party leaders, workers and sympathisers were arriving at Jati Umra on Wednesday to condole with the Sharif family on the demise of Kulsoom Nawaz, who passed away at a hospital in London.

Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Muhammad Safdar were released on a three-day parole from Adiala Jail to attend the last rites of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

According to the Punjab Home Department, the three had reached Jati Umra residence after they were flown to Lahore in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif reached London on Wednesday to attend her funeral prayers at Regent Park mosque and bring back her body to Lahore. The security around Jati Umra residence has been beefed up.
