Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi says terrorism has emerged as the most pervasive threat to peace and security over the past two decades,reported by Radio Pakistan.
Maleeha was speaking at an event of Counter Terrorism co-hosted by Pakistan, Norway and UN Office on Counter Terrorism in New York.
Maleeha Lodhi said Pakistan has witnessed terrorism emerged and expanded in the region as a consequence of conflict caused by a series of foreign interventions in our neighborhood but Pakistan has turned the tide.
The Ambassador said we complement the use of force with a holistic National Counter Extremism Policy that encompasses political, economic, social and cultural elements.
