Islamia University of Bahawalpur signs MOU with La Rochelle University

Bahawalpur   -  The Islamia University of Bahawalpur signed an MOU with La Rochelle University. 

The  Vice Chancellor Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mahboob signed the MOU and chaired the ceremony. The MOU was initiated by the Department of English Literature and Directorate International Linkages, IUB. It covers exchange of faculty, students and joint training and research projects. Prof. Dr. Javed Hassan Chandio, Dean Faculty of arts, Prof. Dr. Rubiana Bhatti, Dean Faculty of social sciences, Prof. Dr. Aftab Gillani, dean faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Muzam Jamil, Registrar IUB, Prof. Dr. Irshad Baloch, Chairman Department of Education, Dr. Abid Shahzad, Director International Linkages and the faculty and students of Department of English were present.  

La Rochelle University was represented by its Vice President, Prof. Dr. Eric Monterio, Director Asia Pacific Institute, Prof. Dr. David Waterman, Director International linkages, Dr. Stephane Aymard. The ceremony was conducted by Raheen Fatima. The Chairman Department of English, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayub Jajja, welcomed and thanked the worthy guests. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the role of Department of English Literature and Directorate of International Linkages

Anti-typhoid campaign to start from May 24th

Anti-typhoid campaign to prevent typhoid will start from May 24 and will continue till June 5, 2021. The campaign will initially vaccinate more than 627,000 children aged 9 months to 15 years in the 29 Urban Union Council of Bahawalpur District.

To review the arrangements in this regard, a meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Ehsan Ali Jamali in the Committee Room of DC Office in which CEO and District Health Officer Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Area Coordinator WHO Dr.  Masood Ahmed, Dr. Shiraz, AMS Dr. Muhammad Hamid, officers of Social Welfare Department, Education, BWMC, Information Department and other concerned departments were present. The Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters said that arrangements for anti-typhoid campaign should be made in an excellent manner.  During this time, children from 9 months to 15 years should be vaccinated against typhoid.  

Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer, District Health Officer, while giving a briefing, said that in order to make the anti-typhoid campaign a success, 29 fixed site teams and 267 teams have been deployed in different areas and alleys.  The station will be set up to vaccinate children aged 9 months to 15 years against typhoid.

He added that during the campaign, children up to 15 years of age studying in government schools, private schools and madrassas will be vaccinated against typhoid.  Immunizations will be given.  He said that the anti-typhoid campaign will start from May 24 and will end on June 5, 2021.
