ISLAMABAD - The Combined Investigation Team (CIT) of National Accountability Bureau will investigate the opposition leader in National Assembly and former Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif today in the illegal appointment of Syed Talat Mehmood as President Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank Limited in Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore.

According to documents available with The Nation, the NAB Rawalpindi had written a letter to the Superintendent Jail Kot Lakhpat Jail yesterday and informed him that CIT will visit the jail on April 13 interrogate Shehbaz Sharif in the illegal appointment of Syed Talat Mehmood as President Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank.

The NAB investigation team comprises Hamad Hassan Niazi, Additional Director, and Abdul Majid, Deputy Director, will interrogate Shahbaz Sharif.

Earlier, the NAB Rawalpindi had filed an application for grant of permission for interrogation of accused Shahbaz Sharif presently under judicial custody in Refernce No. 22/2020 in Accountability Court Lahore.
