OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chuadhry while hearing a petition against processions and demonstrations at the commercial sites of The Mall on Friday directed the Punjab Chief Secretary to come up on the next date of hearing with a viable plan after consultation of all stakeholders to shift the venue of processions and other public activity at some other places where the business is not disturbed. The petition has been moved by the traders of The Mall on being aggrieved of the routine of protest processions and rallies on this main artery of the city whereof their business is being tremendously disturbed after The Mall is blocked for all sorts of traffic and public movement and traders get obliged to shut down their shops etc. During the course of hearing of the petition last day, the Chief Justice observed that present was not a martial law but a democratic era which did not allow suppression of the freedom of any citizen.
