GCU Dean wins award

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Government College University (GCU) Lahore Dean Faculty of Science and Technology Prof Dr Ikramul Haq had been honoured with the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education at the Second Asia Awards held at Suntec, Singapore under the auspices of CMO Asia and World Brand Congress. Prof Ikram was given the special award for his meritorious services for institution building through leadership, innovation, academic and industry interference, said CMO Asia Chief Patron Andrew Kelly while announcing the award for the GCU Dean. Prof Ikram is also founder director of the GCU Institute of Biotechnology. He did his post-doctorate from the Cornell University, New York, US, as a Fulbright Scholar. He was declared the most productive scientist of Pakistan thrice and Best University Teacher once in the last decade and has over 250 national and international publications and five books to his credit. GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleequr Rehamn has congratulated Prof Ikram on getting the award. Meanwhile, Government College University Lahore will hold a ceremony in connection with Independence Day tomorrow (Sunday).
