PESHAWAR - Top seeded Nimra Aqeel and second seed Sana Bahadur will clash in the final of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Girls and Boys Seniors Independence Day Squash Championship being played here at Qamar Zaman Squash Complex. Director Blue Tone Squash Academy Wazir Gul was the chief guest on this occasion. Chief Organizer and KPSA Secretary Munawar Zaman, referee Adil Faqeer, coaches Alam Zeb and Niamat Ullah were also present. In the first semifinal, Nimra recorded a hard-fought victory against her younger sister Hira Aqeel in the marathon five-set battle 3-2. Nimra took the first game 11-6 but failed to click in the second, which Hira won by 9-11. Nimra played third game aggressively and won it 11-4 but again Hira made a comeback and took the game 6-11. In the decisive agme, Nimra played superb squash and won it 11-6. The match lasted for 30 minute. In the second semifinal, Sana recorded a one-sided victory against third seeded Maira Hussain 3-0. The score was 11-6, 11-8 and 11-8. In the boys quarterfinals, top seed Waqar Mehboob of PAF defeated his elder brother Waqas Mehboob of KP 11-3, 11-7 and 11-8. In other match, Noor Zaman of PAF defeated Saddam Ul Haq of Army 3-1, as the score was 8-11, 13-11, 11-6 and 11-7. In another quarterfinal, Ahsan Ayaz of PIA thumped Bilal Zakir of Army 3-0, the score was 11-5, 11-4 and 11-4. In the fourth quarterfinal, Zeeshan Zeb of Army defeated M Ammad of PAF 3-1, as the score was 11-7, 14-12, 5-11 and 11-7.
