BCB seeks ICC approval for Pakistan visit

MUMBAI - Bangladesh may become the first Test playing nation to play against Pakistan in Pakistan after the Lahore Testmatch against the Sri Lankan teamwhich was scrapped after the terror attack in March 2009. This was revealed by the BCB chief. "We are seeking the ICC clearance to playthe series in Pakistan," Mustafa Kamal said and added: "The PCB chief, Zaka Ashraf is scheduled to arrive (after the ACC meeting in Singapore) here on 15th night and during his two-day stay here in Bangladesh, more details will be worked out." The PCB, if granted the "go ahead"by the ICC, will hosttwo Test matches and three ODIs' in March 2012. The PCB chairman will also hold talks with the Indian cricket board president, N Srinivasan in Singapore. "I am told that Srinivasan will make a trip here and I am here to hold talks with him as well", the PCB chief said from Singapore. "The BCCI responded to my request and I was due to arrive in India for the talks but had to cancel my tripat the last moment as I had to rush to Islamabad for talks with government officials on domestic structure of the game in Pakistan.We are keen to break ice on the bilateral series between India and Pakistan," Zaka Ashraf added. For security reasons, no team has been willing to travel to Pakistan since the second Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka had been called off following the attack on the bus carrying the tourists' team in Lahore.
