Flood-hit students seek CMs help

RAJANPUR - The administration of Punjab College Dera Gazi Khan campus is reluctant to give migration to two flood-hit brilliant students of Rajanpur. As per details, Umar Muhammad Mubashir Qazi and Muhammad Ahsan, cousins and classmates, had been toppers of their class by securing 966/1050 & 965/1050 marks respectively in the matriculation examination 2010 from BISE DG Khan. Both of them had to get admission in Punjab College DG Khan campus and started living in its hostel due to devastating floods in their native area Jampur in August 2010. There were not qualified teachers in the college for their particular subjects. So the students had to join academies. But due to the hostels 4km distance from the city and worst situation of law & order, the students could not continue their studies through academies. Both the students eventually took their first year examination under the auspices of Punjab College. Umar Mubashir Qazi and Muhammad Ahsan obtained 402/505 and 375/505 marks respectively in the examination. On the unsatisfactory results, both the cousins decided to study at their native city Jampur. In this regard, they contacted the administration for migration to Jampur, but their request was put off and even their migration application was not accepted by the college administration. Both the students appealed to CM Shahbaz Sharif to take action of the situation.
