ISLAMABAD (APP/Reuters) - Interior Minister Rehman Malik Monday denied the government was holding talks with Taliban, saying it would do so only if the militants first disarmed and surrendered. Categorically, Im telling on behalf of the government, no dialogue, Malik told reporters. We will hold talks with Taliban if they surrender and accept governments writ. To a question, he said the government had improved law and order and that no untoward incident took place during the Ashura. He said the government would take all possible steps to establish its writ. We have rendered unmatched sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Around 36,000 persons have fallen prey to terrorism. He said peace had been restored in Malakand, Swat and other areas.
