PDC seeks mass rally at Minar

LAHORE Pakistan Defense Council has appealed to the masses to participate in the conference at Minar-e-Pakistan on December 18 irrespective of their political affiliations for the cause of national defense and security. Addressing a press conference at Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore office on Monday, the PDC leaders welcomed the vacating of Shamsi airbase and demanded permanent closure of Nato supply line. The leaders including Liaqat Baloch, Maulana Ameer Hamza, Qari Zawwar Bahadur, Makhdoom Manzoor Ahmad, Maulana Abdul Malik, Pir Saifullah Khalid, Bashir Ahmad Shad, Qari Yaqoob, Mirza Ayub Baig, Shamsur Rehman Muavia, Asim Makhdoom, Yahya Mujahid and others demanded immediate revoking of all secret deals with the US for supporting her controversial war on terror. They demanded vacation of all bases from the US, saying a deadline should be given failing which the bases should be reclaimed and the belongings of Nato should be distributed among the victims of drone attacks and military operations. They demanded the rulers to break the beggars bowl and lead the whole nation in becoming self sufficient. They said it was high time the rulers must implement the joint resolutions of parliament. They said the success of the proposed Defense of Pakistan Conference would give a fresh hope and vigor to the nation. In order to make extensive contacts at mosques, seminaries and local levels, the PDC leadership was making contacts with different people and influential, while it has also constituted different administrative committees for the proposed public meeting, they said.
