NOORPUR THAL - The Punjab government has a strong desire to improve the quality of teaching and learning and bring it at par with international standards, these views were expressed by Deputy District Education Officer (Women) Madam Naheed Tahira. She was addressing Taleemi Conference which was held at Govt Girls Elementary School Mohallah Hussain Abad here on Monday. Assistant Education Officers Mussrat Batool, Naheed Raza, Sumina Ishaq and Headmistress Shaheen Akhtar were also present on the occasion. Teachers should play their vital role to improve the quality of education, she said. Various initiatives have been taken by District Coordination Officer Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah and Executive District Officer (Education) Qazi Zahoor Ahmad for the uplift of the education sector and to ensure modern education to the new generation of district Khushab, she added. The Deputy DEO further said that Directorate of Staff Development Lahore has been training in-service schoolteachers. She emphasized the teachers to teach the students according to the DSD guides. These teachers guides will help primary schoolteachers to deliver and further plan their content lessons, seek basic information on given concepts and topics and assess students understanding the taught concepts, Naheed Tahira said. She further said that it was observed during visits to different schools, classroom management condition was very poor. Classroom management plays a vital role in effective teaching and learning. So teachers should be carefully in this connection, she directed.
