Fantastic Fakhar formulates another victory for Qalandars

The incredible fifty of sensational Fakhar Zaman once again helped Lahore Qalandars defeat Quetta Gladiators by 8 wickets in the 20th fight of Pakistan Super League season 7 here at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Sending in Quetta Gladiators to bat first after opting to field, Captain Shaheen proved his decision right when he dismissed Jason Roy and James Vince off consecutive deliveries in the first over. A direct hit from Kamran Ghulam to catch Sarfraz Ahmed short of his crease and a googly from Rashid Khan reduced Quetta to 4 down inside the Powerplay overs.

Coming to the crease, Captain Sarfaraz Ahmad tried his best to change the momentum of losing wickets after placing 12 runs on a scorecard. Iftikhar played sensationally and helped his side produce a good score of 142. He made 52 runs on 39 balls with 2 fours and 3 maximums. Umar Akmal also participated in a target of 142. He scored 25 runs. Hassan Khan added 17 runs in the last overs.

Qalandars' bowling attack restricted Gladiators on just 141. Captain Shaheen and David Weise were able to pick 2 wickets each while Rashid Khan and Haris Rauf bagged apiece.

Chasing the target, Lahore Qalandars star Fakhar Zaman started the innings with Abdullah Shafique that gathered 41 runs in 6 overs. Abdullah didn't support Fakhar for so long and had to leave for just 19. Ghulam Mudassar had targeted his stumps. Fakhar Zaman smashed the fifth fifty of the season and become the first batter in PSL 7 who achieved this milestone of 469 runs. Fakhar hammered 53 runs which consist of 6 fours. Kamran Ghulam took the string firmly after Fakhar's dismissal and earned victory for the Qalandars. He also braced a half-century without losing his wicket. His 55 runs knock was made up of 4 fours and one six.

With the victory, Lahore have got 8 points and taken the second slot on the points table.

For Gladiators, Noor Ahmad and Ghulam Mudassar took one wicket each. Fakhar Zaman once again awarded player of the match for his outstanding knock.
