Sindh govt already devolved powers to LG before SC order: Saeed Ghani

HYDERABAD - The Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani has said the Sindh government already devolved powers to the Local Government before the Supreme Court ordered the same last month.

Talking to the media in Tando Muhammad Khan district on Saturday, he asserted that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was determined to strengthen the local bodies.

The minister informed that the government had taken notice of the incident of harassment of female students in the province’s educational institutions. He assured that people including the officials found involved in such shameful act would be punished according to the law.

MPA Syed Aijaz Shah Bukhari, Former Municipal Committee Chairman Syed Shahnawaz Shah Bukhari and others were present on the occasion. Ghani said that Yousuf Raza Gilani was a sincere leader of the PPP and his absence from the Senate during the bill was being talked about arbitrarily. He informed the journalists that the Sindh government had taken notice of the atrocities against girls in educational institutions and those involved would be punished according to law, he added saying that the people would soon protest against the government of Imran Khan Niazi and it would be sent back to the pavilion. He said that Bilawal Bhutto was the brighten hopes for the poor people of Pakistan.  He further said that PPP had always led the public politics and believed in serving the country and the nation without any discrimination of caste and creed.

Saed Ghani said that there were many political parties in the country but they were unaware of the sufferings of poor people and PPP was the only political party which remained among the people and played its role in resolving public grievances. He termed the development of the country and nation as the success of PPP saying that they were trying to get more people joined party and play their vital role in making the PPP a more stable political party,” he observed.

On the occasion, MPA and president of PPP District, Tando Muhammad Khan, Syed Ijaz Shah Bukhari, Former Municipal Chairman, Syed Shahnawaz Shah Bukhari and others were also accompanied with him.

Meanwhile,  Karachi Administrator, Sindh governments Spokesman and Chief Minister Advisor on Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Saturday while congratulating the people of Sindh and provincial assembly on the approval of the students union revival bill said that Kalashnikov culture had become popular in educational institutions in the past due to dictatorial measures.  “The Assembly has passed another historic bill. Members of the PPP and all parties in the House deserve congratulations on the passage of this bill,” he said and that that revival of student unions was a long standing demand of students. 

 

 The Administrator said that promise had been fulfilled by PPP under Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision. He hoped that the initiative would help improving the environment in educational institutions and also help in overcoming the difficulties faced by the students in getting education.  He said that this was a commendable initiative of Sindh Assembly for the people of the province which will help in the improvement and development of educational institutions.
