Protest against Kasur incident continues

Rawalpindi - Protest against the Kasur’s incident continued on the second consecutive day on Friday with demand of earlier arrest of the killer of a seven-year-old girl.

The protestors were chanting slogans against police and government for their lethargic attitude towards the culprit involved in the inhuman incident.

The students, traders, politicians, lawyers, paramedics and members of civil society demonstrated at Chungi Number 20 to condemn the brutal killing of an innocent girl Zainab in Kasur district. The protest demonstration was led by Raja Ijaz and Raja Iftikhar, PPP local leaders, which was also participated by a large numbers of area people.

Holding a huge sized banner mentioning, “Punish the killers of innocent Zainab immediately”, the protestors chanted slogans against police, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah for their failure in nabbing the criminal.

Addressing the protestors, Raja Ijaz and Raja Iftikhar condemned the inhuman incident and asked the government to end violence against children. They said the inhuman incident in Kasur dejected the whole nation and people poured on roads to protest for earlier arrest of the killer. They said police had also opened firing at innocent protestors and killed two men in Kasur.  “Rulers are shielding the killers,” they alleged.

SP Saddar Circle Iftikhar Ul Haq, SHOs of Police Stations Saddar Bairooni and Rawat Malik Rafaqat and Mustafa Kamal Niazi made security arrangements to protect protestors and also kept Road open for traffic movement. 

Similarly, Tehrik e Labaik Ya Rasool Allah also organised a protest demo at the Liaquat Bagh on Murree Road. The protestors chanted slogans against the Punjab government and called for arrest of the killers involved in the henious crime.
