Peshawar - A high-level meeting was held at the Local Government Secretariat Peshawar on Wednesday to review the problems faced by the people regarding the Local Government Department in Mardan.
KP Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development (LGRD) Faisal Amin presided over the meeting which was also attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Minister Atif Khan and MPAs from Mardan Abdus Salaam Afridi, Tufail Anjum, Malik Shoukat Ali and Zahir Shah Toru.
KP Secretary LG Shakeel Ahmed Mian, Special Secretary Hafiz Mutasim Billa Shah, Director General Local Government, Secretary Local Council Board, heads of Mardan Development Authority, WSSC and mega project KPCAP were also present on the occasion.
The meeting discussed the civic problems of Mardan in depth while certain necessary decisions were also taken including health and hygiene, drinking water, drainage and sanitation, solid waste disposal especially generating electricity from city garbage, modernising residential projects, Township Development, TMA, WSSC, Mardan Development Authority and Mega Project KPCAP functionality, environmental improvement, training of local government employees deployed in Mardan on pattern of developed countries and other related civic issues.
Addressing the meeting, Faisal Amin said that Mardan is the second largest city of the province after Peshawar and its construction and development is the foremost duty of the provincial government. He assured that issues raised in the meeting would be resolved on priority basis. Similarly, he reaffirmed, the decisions taken in the meeting would be implemented as soon as possible.
The Mardan Assembly members thanked Faisal Amin for his keen interest in the public issues and taking them seriously.
