Talking to media, he said terrorists have been detained in an operation in Okara but he refused to give details saying that sharing information may create fears and intimidations among the people.

He said news are being disseminated about safe haven of terrorists in Punjab which are baseless and unfounded.

Lauding performance of the government, he said operations have wiped out Chotu Gang from Rajanpur and eliminated Lashkar-e-Jhangvi leadership from Muzaffargarh.

He said actions are also being taken against terror groups in Multan.

He said that terror attacks have reduced due to National Action Plan (NAP) and subsequent operation Zarb-e-Azab, however, thereat of the menace cannot be ruled out as safe havens of terrorists are still there in Afghanistan.

He said, “Without elimination of safe hideouts from Afghanistan durable peace is not possible.”
