Iran vows to enhance energy cooperation with Pakistan: Iranian envoy

ISLAMABAD   -  Iran is ready to deliver more electricity to Pakistan and necessary infrastructure in this regard is built by Tehran. 

This was disclosed by Iranian ambassador to Pakistan in a meeting with federal minister for Energy. Iranian ambassador Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini called on Federal Minister for Energy Muhammad Hammad Azhar here Monday. During the meeting, matters relating to cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector came under discussion.

Hammad Azhar, while underscoring the importance of Iranian electricity import to the neighbouring districts of Balochistan especially Gwadar, said that it is playing pivotal role in provision of electricity to these area. He also expressed the commitment to work for further enhancing cooperation between both countries in the energy sector as per the MoU singed during the recent visit of Pakistani premier to Iran. The Iranian ambassador informed Hammad Azhar that Iranian side is ready to deliver more electricity to Pakistan and necessary infrastructure in this regard is built by his country. He informed that close coordination between the relevant organisations dealing with import of electricity is needed for early materialisation of the project.
