Ruckus during IHC proceedings

ISLAMABAD - Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Sardar Mohammad Aslam here Thursday took strong notice of the unwanted interference by some members of Islamabad Bar Association, who tried to rough up the lawyers during the judicial proceedings. Despite announcement made by PBC to boycott court's proceedings in connection with the long march, a number of lawyers have kept appearing regularly at IHC. When the court's proceedings were in progress about 20 to 25 members from the Bar, entered Single Bench of Chief Justice and asked lawyers not to pursue their cases.  They reportedly misbehaved with certain lawyers. CJ warned them not to interfere in the courts' proceedings and settle their matter outside court's premises. But when they kept on behaving rudely, CJ called for security personnel and ordered them to arrest two advocates namely Bilal and Arbab Alam Abbasi. Later on, President IBA Haroon ur Rashid and senior lawyers including Bashir Kyani and Raja Mohammad Akram met CJ in his chamber and promised to tender written apology on behalf of lawyers for their misbehaviour. Chief Justice, however, warned them that in future no such interference would be tolerated.
