Terrorists will find no place to hide: COAS

ISLAMABAD - Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif said that the terrorists would find no place to hide themselves and be hit wherever they are found.
The army chief made this statement during his visit to North Waziristan Agency along with Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt on Thursday.
According to ISPR DG, Major General Asim Salim Bajwa, they were briefed about the operation Zarb-e-Azb. They reviewed progress of the operation and future plans. They also met with troops deployed in the battle ground.
Gen Raheel Sharif appreciated efficacy of the use of air power with ground operations. He said that terrorists will be chased and targeted. They also met with troops fighting what has been dubbed a decisive battle against terrorism.
The chief military spokesperson said the army chief and air chief acknowledged that a new level of “jointness” between the two forces had been achieved in the ongoing operation.
The COAS reaffirmed commitment to eliminate all terrorists and directed all the quarters concerned to prepare for a dignified return of the Temporarily Displaced Persons to their homes.
The rehabilitation process in South Waziristan Agency will commence on March 17 and in North Waziristan Agency on March 31.
TWO KILLED IN PESHAWAR SHOOTOUT
Staff Reporter adds: A militant, who tried to ambush a military check-post near Gora Qabristan here, was gunned down by security forces Thursday. A van driver was also killed while seven passengers were injured in the crossfire. Police said that a suspected person wearing tradition shawl opened fire, injuring a soldier deputed on the check-post. Another security man retaliated to the attack and managed to gun down the assailant.  A passenger van also came under the crossfire. At least seven passengers including the driver sustained injuries.
They were hurried to CMH and Lady Reading Hospital, but the driver succumbed to injuries on the way.
Talking to media persons, SP Cantonment M Umar said that the attacker single-handedly targeted the check-post. The deceased was identified as Momin Khan, while the injured Syed Mian Gul, Inam, Hamid Hussain, Nomanr and Hasmallay.
