Law and order situation ideal in Bahawalpur range: AIGP

BAHAWALPUR   -  Additional Inspector General of Police South Punjab Captain (Retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) has said that the victims of oppression turn to the police for justice and it is essential to make police stations a speedy source of justice for the people. 

By providing justice to the citizens, police officers can be successful in religion and the world. He vowed that strict departmental accountability of those who supported the tyrant in the pride of uniform was underway adding that South Punjab Police had been removed from traditional style of interrogation.

He expressed these views while visiting Bahawalpur Range yesterday. DPO Bahawalpur Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera was also present on the occasion. Additional Inspector General of Police listened to the problems of the people under open door policy in his camp office Bahawalpur.  Capt. R. Zafar Iqbal Awan also inspected the Dolphin Force Headquarters and Safe City project at Police Line Bahawalpur and gave a briefing.

 Additional Inspector General of Police South Punjab Capt. R. Zafar Iqbal Awan while addressing a meeting of police officers said that law and order situation in Bahawalpur range was ideal. Under the vision of Punjab government, Safe City project had been expedited to make senior citizens safe.  Capt. Zafar Iqbal Awan directed the police command to ensure that the civil society and business community in the central bazaars and sensitive areas were provided with funds to complete the projects of Safe City project in Multan and Bahawalpur. 

In collaboration, CCTV cameras should be installed and an effective patrol system should be defined to create a sense of security among the citizens.  Only ordinary citizens can provide better information to the police against criminals. This is possible only if the police and the public are present on one platform. The Additional IG said that the field police force should be given all the help to reduce the crime rate.  Resources have been provided for new vehicles at the police station level.  He said that now the police would have to use all its capabilities to meet the expectations of the people. Upgradation should be completed immediately. Earlier, Capt. Zafar Iqbal Awan also inspected the building under construction of Dolphin Force. On the occasion, DPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera also gave a briefing on law and order and development projects.

Culture Day observed

A Punjab Culture Day function was organised at Public Relations Department, Bahawalpur in which officers and employees dressed in traditional regional attire performed official duties.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Public Relations Nasir Hameed said that regional culture was the cause of peace, love and mutual unity. Pakistan is a land of fertile and diverse regional culture and its culture is full of beautiful colors and fragrance of peace and security. 

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Director Public Relations Abid Hassan Rizvi, Superintendent Naseem Nadeem, Accounts Officer Ghulam Asghar and all the staff. Later, prayers were offered for the security and prosperity of the country.
