ISLAMABAD- All 22 station house officers of the Islamabad police have been provided vehicles and fuel for travel during duty hours, informed a police spokesman on Saturday.
This step is aimed to curb the usage of confiscated and recovered vehicles by officers and ending the practice of asking vehicles from touts and local mafias who in turn earn benefits from police station, he said.
“This will also improve the operational capability of police stations as SHOs use operational vehicles for their pick and drop, appearing in courts and attending meetings resulting in non-availability of one operational vehicle in police station jurisdiction,” the spokesman said.
