Imam cries foul at rigging in polls

Former speaker National Assembly and PML-N candidate for NA-156 Syed Fakhar Imam has alleged that his election result had been changed by the Returning Officer with the connivance of Presiding Officer, demanding the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to issue order for the withholding the results of his constituency NA-156 Khanewal.
Addressing a news conference here at Multan Press Club here on Sunday, he said that he was not given the result of his constituency despite repeated demands. He demanded the Election Commission not to declare the result of his constituency until an inquiry was launched and completed. He told the journalists that he had informed the CEC about the rigging and tempering in the results but no action was taken so far.
He said that his election was also rigged in 2008 on which he had filed a petition. “The hearing of this petition concluded in three years but no verdict is announced despite lapse of another two years,” he lamented. He asked the CEC and masses to take notice of rigging of his results.
