Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile and Industry Abdul Razak Dawood on Tuesday has said that there are no plans to give away status of “most favoured nation” to India.
Addressing an international cement conference here in Lahore today, the PM’s adviser made it clear that there is no shortcut for putting the country’s economy on track as it will take some time.
“Everything is at “sixes and sevens” which needs time to settle down”, he continued. Mr Razak urged everyone to play their role for national and economic development.
The government is committed to facilitating the business community as no nation can progress unless it pursues export-driven strategy, he said.
Adding that Pakistan is getting positive response from the world, exports are also increasing gradually, he maintained
Focusing the ongoing talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the adviser said that matters will be settled with the Fund in the best way.
He said government trying to facilitate industries working in the export sector and the provision of electricity and gas at the subsidized rate is also a step in the direction.
The delegation of the international monetary fund (IMF) is in Pakistan for talks with the government for a fresh bailout package to guide the country out of the difficult economic situation.
