Mardan-At least 76 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for chairmanship of tehsil councils in five tehsils of Mardan district, sources said.  
Sources added that 21 candidates submitted nomination papers for the mayorship of Mardan, while 22 candidates submitted their nomination papers for Tehsil Council Takhatbhai chairmanship, 22 candidates submitted nomination papers for tehsil Katlang chairmanship, 10 candidates submitted their nomination papers for Rustam tehsil and 9 candidates submitted their nomination papers for Gahri Kapura tehsil.  
Sources added that Mardan district is consisting of 75 union councils.     Sources added that hundreds of candidates have submitted their nomination papers for general seats, kisan/ worker seats, youth seats, female seats and minority seats.  
Sources in the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that due to the grouping in the PTI, the PTI has failed to nominate their candidates so far for the mayorship of Mardan and chairmanship of other four tehsils.  
However, Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and some other opposition parties have finalised their candidates for five tehsils of Mardan district.
