Masood Khan Pakistan envoy to China

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Friday appointed a senior diplomat, Masood Khan, as its new ambassador to People's Republic of China, according to a Foreign Office statement, issued here. Masood Khan, who was Ambassador of Pakistan to Geneva, holds masters degree in English and joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1980. He served at Headquarters as Director (1990-1993 and 2002-2003) and as Director General (2004-2005). Masood Khan also held diplomatic assignment at Embassy of Pakistan, Beijing (1984-1986), The Hague (1986-1989), Parepun New York (1993-1997) and Washington (1997-2002). Presently he is serving as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Geneva, since March 2005.
