Another PPP MNA turns out to be a fake degree holder

Another Scandal of fake degree has come to haunt the ruling party PPP. It has been disclosed that a PPP Member of National Assembly from Mandi Bahuddin constituency NA-108 is a fake degree holder. It is surprising to mention here that the government had made Muhammad Tariq Tarar, an MNA of PPP, as Parliamentary Secretary of Ministry of Environment but he even cannot write his own name in English. Muhammad Tariq Tarar is a close relative of Federal Minister Nazar Muhammad Gondal. According to an investigation report, Muhammad Tariq Tarar, MNA of PPP participated in February 2008 elections on the basis of BA degree which he obtained form Bahaudin Zakria University Multan. The degree of member National Assembly of PPP was challenged by Anti Corruption Punjab and after the initial investigation, it was found that Muhammad Tariq used fake photographs for appearing in the exam. After the laboratory test of the picture, the Anti Corruption Punjab wanted to take action against PPP's member who later had obtained stay order from Lahore High Court Multan Bench. According to sources, the Anti Corruption Punjab wanted to investigate the matter for the last two years but stopped by the Federal Government. Lahore High Court Multan Bench, however, has set April 19 as hearing of the case and directed the Anti Corruption Punjab to appear in the court with all records. It may be recalled that Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhary of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) was runner up in 2008 elections while Zafar Ullah Tarar of PML-Q stood third.
