SIALKOT - PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz has said the disqualification of the three-time prime minister by the Supreme Court of Pakistan is not life-long as it will only last till the ‘justice dispensing people’ are enjoying their posts.

Addressing the participants of a largely attended social media workers’ convention at Sialkot city’s Railway Road Friday, she said it had become an international joke that Nawaz Sharif was being disqualified again and again in a single case.

Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, all the MNAs/MPAs of Sialkot district and local PML-N leaders were present on this occasion.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif claimed every verdict being given by the Supreme Court against Nawaz Sharif was making him stronger. She said Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification was not a verdict given today by the Supreme Court; it was acknowledgment of Nawaz Sharif’s growing political popularity by those who did not want to see Nawaz Sharif in power and even in the national political scenario. She said their minus-Nawaz Sharif formula had badly failed, which had been proven by the time and the masses.

She said disqualification-like verdicts were also conspiracies against Nawaz Sharif to keep him away from the 2018 general elections as well. She said the political opponents wasted 30 years to prevent Nawaz Sharif from working for national development and serving the masses.

She said Nawaz Sharif had won this battle by presenting himself and his family before the Supreme Court and upholding the prestige of the top court.

She claimed: “We have successfully presented our case in the court of the masses as the nation has already come to know all the truth about the prevailing political unrest in the country.”

Maryam Nawaz Sharif stressed the need of promoting public awareness about the sanctity of their votes and vowed the PML-N would now take its nation-wide move, “Respect the Vote” to its logical end as the PML-N had successfully taken its case to the court of the masses.

She asked the people to come forward to ensure the respect of their votes by everyone, saying the court of the masses of Pakistan would announce verdict in favour of PML-N and against those political actors who created hurdles in the way of national prosperity and progress as well. She said the PML-N government was successfully implementing its agenda of national development, peace, progress and prosperity.

Maryam asserted the PML-N government would also complete its constitutional tenure besides successfully foiling all the conspiracies against democracy, democratic system and the country’s socio-economic development by some political actors in the country. She said although Nawaz Sharif was not the prime minister, he was ruling the hearts and minds of the people.

Maryam Nawaz said the PML-N would win the 2018 general elections on the basis of its performance and again come to power with the power of vote. She said the politically matured people had rejected the negative politics of conflict and confrontation.

Maryam claimed the PML-N was capable of making Pakistan prosperous as envisaged by the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
