PML-N will meet MQM’s fate soon, says Fawad Ch

LAHORE: PTI’s Secretary Information, Fawad Ch on Wednesday claimed that the ruling PML-N will be meeting the same fate as that of the MQM in the days to come.

Addressing a news conference at Lahore, the PTI leader predicted that the pending cases in the NAB against the Sharif family will seal their fate.

“It is only a matter of time when people will see fragmentation in the PML-N just like the MQM is undergoing these days”, he remarked.

Replying to a question, he admitted that result of Lodhran by-election was against the expectations of the PTI leadership.

He further stated that PTI Chairman Imran Khan had convened a meeting of party’s core committee on Thursday to analyze the factors responsible for party’s defeat in Lodhran.

Quoting examples from Punjab, Sindh and KPK, Fawad also said that it was a set pattern that a by-election is always won by the ruling party.

Nonetheless, Fawad alleged that the government had distributed at least Rs 94 billion among its sitting members of National Assembly (MNA) to carry out development work in their constituencies ahead of the coming general elections.  Terming it a pre-poll rigging, the PTI spokesperson complained that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had turned a blind eye to what the ruling party was doing to rig the elections.

He said that the PTI was fighting against a very big mafia [the PML-N] which had deep roots in the civil bureaucracy.

“In the past 30 years, they have won the loyalties of many officers who protect their political interests even during the elections”, he alleged.

Fawad also termed the PML-N a group of ‘Ali Baba and 40 thieves’ and accused the government of protecting big dacoits.

He said that it was for the same reason that SC had declared the PML-N leaders a mafia in its July 28, 2017 verdict.

He welcomed National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) request to Interior Ministry to place the names of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (Retd) Safdar on the Exit Control List (ECL).

“But mere dispatching a letter to the Ministry in this regard is not enough. NAB should get its orders implemented.”, he stated.

While appreciating the working of the graft body, he said that NAB should also have the powers to get its decisions implemented.

He also demanded the arrest of Interior Minister and the Interior Secretary for facilitating Ishaq Dar to leave the country.
