‘I was removed unconstitutionally’


MULTAN - Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the holders of president, prime minister and foreign minister offices enjoy immunity in entire world but he was removed unconstitutionally.
“But I offered this sacrifice for the supremacy of constitution and in larger interest of the country and nation,” he added while talking to the journalists after a meeting with Sudanese Ambassador to Pakistan Al-Shafie Ahmad Mohamed here at his residence on Friday.
The envoy called on former premier and discussed the issues of bilateral interests with him. It was stressed during the meeting to take more steps to further boosting the bilateral ties.
Yousuf Raza said that Sudan was a brother Islamic country and Pakistan had always played important role in building infrastructure in Sudan besides boosting bilateral trade. He pointed out that there were vital opportunities in the field of agriculture in Sudan and Pakistan could help Sudan uplift its agriculture sector by sending experts. Gilani added that the founder of PPP Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto sent experts to Jordan while current regime would send agricultural experts to Sudan.
The Sudanese ambassador hailed the steps taken by Gilani government for improving bilateral relations and invited him to visit Sudan.
Later on, former premier took the envoy to a public meeting being held in connection with Abdul Qadir Gilani’s election campaign to give him a glimpse of local political culture.
BZU DECLARES RESULT: The Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan has announced the result of MA English Part-1 & 11, Annual Examination 2011 here on Friday.
According to the result notification, a total of 473 candidates appeared in the examination out of which 261 got through while 212 failed. Thus the overall success ratio in this examination stood at 55.18 per cent. The result statistics disclosed that just two candidates passed examination in first division while 259 second.
