WAZIRABAD - Three assailants gunned down a former assistant district public prosecutor while he was having a hair cut here in Rehmat Plaza in Gakkar Mandi on Friday.
According the FIR, Advocate Shehzad Zafar Cheema, a resident of Kotli Sahian village had admonished Rizwan alias Razi, a resident of the same village for his criminal activities due to which Rizwan was annoyed with him.
Moreover, Rizwan was wanted to the police in various cases and had been declared a proclaimed offender (PO).
On Friday at around 7:30am, Shehzad Zafar was at a Hair Cutting Saloon in Rehmat Plaza in Gakkhar when Rizwan alias Razi along with his two accomplices fired a volley of gunshots on him, killing him instantly. The Saddr Police registered a case against five accused including Rizwan, Afzal, Ijaz and their two unidentified accomplices Under Section 302/109 etc.
The deceased was former Assistant District Public Prosecutor and had a police guard in addition to his own security guard.
Meanwhile, the Bar Association Wazirabad boycotted the court proceedings in protest against the incident and announced a three-day mourning.
