AJK fires PPP-inducted heads of depts

MIRPUR (AJK)-Chief Secretary has removed different institutions’ heads politically inducted by the PPP government in Azad Jammu & Kashmir with immediate effect.
In the light of the orders by the AJK government, Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Amjad Pervez Ali Khan has been assigned the additional charge of Director General Mirpur Development Authority and Director General Mangla Dam Housing Authority in place of removed DG Ch Javed Iqbal and DG Ch Zulfiqar Azam. The Divisional Commissioner Mirpur has assumed the additional charge of both of the offices.
Similarly, Commissioners of Muzaffarabad and Poonch divisions have assumed the charge of the offices of Director General MDA Muzaffarabad and DG Pearl Development Authority Rawalakot respectively with immediate effect.
Likewise, the deputy commissioners of rest of the districts of AJK have assumed the additional charge of the heads of development authorities and civic institutions in their respective district replacing the removed politically-inducted heads of the development authorities and the identical civic institutions.
The incumbent PPP-led coalition government of AJK had inducted its favorites on the basis of political affiliations as heads of the development authorities, civic institutions and the identical autonomous bodies since it came to power in 2011.
AKRSP office raided, record confiscated
The Azad Jammu Kashmir Accountability Bureau conducted a raid on the head office of Azad Kashmir Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) and confiscated record for further investigations into massive financial irregularities in the institution, it was officially told.
An AJK Accountability Bureau (Ehtesab Bureau) Spokesperson told The Nation that the Ehtesab Bureau took the action on a reference sent by the Chief Secretary of AJK government about the massive corruption including embezzlement of funds by the institution.
He said that preliminary probe spoke of misappropriation of funds related to salaries, travelling and daily allowances, development and non-development funds, bank accounts and misuse of powers.
The arrests of the AKRSP officials to be found responsible of corruption and misuse of powers could be made after completion of the investigations, according to the spokesperson.
The AJK Accountability Bureau has geared up its drive to net the elements involved in corruption malpractices including financial irregularities in various public sector and autonomous bodies in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
