Musharraf demands more provinces in country

KARACHI - Former president Pervez Musharraf on Sunday demanded to make more provinces in the country as it is the only way to eliminate the sense of deprivation among the people.

He said that his party stood with the Mohajir community and other groups that have been ignored. Musharraf stated this while addressing a public gathering at Liaquatabad flyover

organised by his All Pakistan Muslim League and allies.

It is pertinent to mention here that it was first public meeting of the Pakistan Awami Ittehad, led by former President Pervez Musharraf.

Musharraf who is currently living aboard is leading this alliance comprising religio-political parties including Pakistan Sunni Tehreek (PST), Pakistan Muslim League-J (PML-J), Pakistan Muslim Alliance (PMA) and Awami League.

Addressing the participants, Musharraf stated that the country is still in danger as the Indian Prime Minister was threatening Pakistan Army.

He said that people should get rid of incompetent parties PML-N and PPP by giving their decision in favour of APML and its allies in general elections.

He said that Punjab province and especially Karachi was witnessing a political vacuum and it need to be filled by the people those have kept the country first. Mohajir Community should not consider them as helpless and alone as Pervez Musharraf is here to support their struggle for rights, he added.

Talking about the current situation of Karachi, former President said that infrastructure in the metropolis was completely destroyed while the people were left with no water and electricity.

Everything needs to be fixed here and it is only going to happen with the support of Karachiites, he said, adding , that party would bring an immediate change in picture of Karachi after coming into power whereas the immigrant Bengalis and Biharis living in the country would be issued CNIC.

Criticising ruling PML-N government, he said that incompetent rulers instead of putting the country on path of progress did nothing and put billions of dollars loans on the national exchequer.

The investment on the development was seen nowhere as the rulers bypassed the merit and awarded their blue eyed people, he said.

He blamed rulers for the crisis in the country.

In these circumstances the first priority was to strengthen the country's defence and bring prosperity to the nation, he added. We can save the country like we did in 1999, he said. He said that APML's Pakistan Awami Ittehad will secure a considerable mandate in Sindh and Punjab and will defeat the PML-N, PPP in 2018 polls.
