NPT remembers Karbala martyrs

LAHORE  - Those who offered sacrifices to liberate the Muslims of the sub-continent from the oppression of the British subjugation truly followed the example set by Hazrat lmam Hussain (RA).
These views were expressed by the speakers at a special sitting arranged by the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust in association with the Tehreek-i-Pakistan Workers Trust at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan, while speaking on the subject ‘The Philosophy of Martyrdom of the Chief of Martyrs, Hazrat lmam Hussain (May God be pleased with him).”
Those sharing their ideas included Shahid Rasheed, Allama DrRaghib Hussain Naeemi; Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Yousuf from Jamia Ashrafia; Pir Syed Ma’asoom Hussain Naqvi, President Jamiat-i-Mashaikh Qari Zawar Bahadur from Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Pakistan and Maulana Muhammad Shafi Josh.  A large number of students and people from every walk of life attended the meeting. Syed Abid Hussain Shah conducted the proceedings.
Shahid Rashid laid stress on the sanctity of the national anthem, composed by Abul Asar Hafeez Jallundhri, receiving intuitive and spiritual guidance from the Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself. He also emphasised the need for unity, fraternity and love among all the sects, as it was these very virtues that had enabled them to carve out a nation of their own.
Allama Dr Raghib Hussain Naeemi explained the philosophy of martyrdom by interpreting a verse from the Holy Quran, in which Allah forewarns that He shall try man by subjecting him to fear, hunger and financial loss; only those who bear these hardships with a smiling face, will be rewarded. Hazrat lmam Hussain (May God be pleased with him) underwent all these calamities with exemplary patience and perseverance. Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad also stressed the need for replacing hatred by feelings of love and affinity.
