Mufti Qavi's remand extended

MULTAN-A local court extended on Monday the judicial remand of Mufti Abdul Qavi, a cleric arrested in Qandeel Baloch murder case, for seven more days.
On the other hand, a district and sessions court adjourned the hearing of Mufti's bail application till Tuesday (today).
Police produced Mufti before judicial magistrate Pervaiz Khan on completion of his 12-day judicial remand and the public prosecutor requested the court to further extend the judicial remand of the cleric. The father of the slain social media celebrity Muhammad Azeem was also present in the court on this occasion.
The cleric, who was arrested by police on October 18 while trying to flee after cancellation of his bail, was indicted into the case under sections 302 and 109 on the request of Qandeel's father, Muhammad Azeem. The social media celebrity was strangled by her real brother on July 16, 2016 in the name of honour. Although the murderer Waseem confessed to his crime, police suspected that Mufti provoked him to commit this crime.
