Backbone of our industry

It is understood that there is no one in Pakistan who can raise a voice for the labour class. This class is continuously suffering in terms of increasing duty time and decreasing pay scale. All organizations, whether in public sector or private sector do not care for the labour class. People employed in private organization have no fixed time to go home. The worst case is for the security guards who have no holidays even on a Sunday or Eid. They perform their duty for 12 hours a day, 7 days in a week. Our labour laws clearly states that the hours should not exceed 45 hours a week but this does not apply anywhere. It is sad, but true, that violation of law is not shocking for any employee in Pakistan. I request the mill owners, traders and all business community to please take care of their labour as they are the back bone of our industry. I also request the labour department to wake up and take steps to ensure that action is taken against the organizations who do not implement labour law
