NAB summons Babar

ISLAMABAD In the light of the direction of Supreme Court of Pakistan, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan, Sharifuddin Pirzada, former Attorney General Malik Abdul Qayyum and others on Tuesday (today) in connection with Haris Steel Mills Bank of Punjab fraud case, sources in the department informed. The sources informed TheNation that all these persons were implicated in the case by the main accused in Haris Steel Mills case Sh Afzal by charging all these persons for taking huge amounts from him for getting his case cleared from the apex court. The others who have been summoned include Sarfraz Merchant, Ali Wasim, son of Leader of Opposition in Senate Wasim Sajjad and a number of other persons who were implicated in Rs. 9 billion fraud case by Sh Afzal. Sh Afzal during the hearing of Haris Steel Mills case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan had furnished an affidavit with the court and also recorded his statement implicating these persons for getting heavy bribes from him for getting the case cleared from the apex court.
