ISLAMABAD—- Criticising the other opposition parties’ role during the budget debate, PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday specifically grilled Maulana Fazlur Rehman for his wheeling and dealing while sitting on the opposition benches.
Nisar also urged media; civil society and all other segments of the society to be unite on one point agenda to secure democracy, judiciary and the future of the their children. “The rulers want to destroy institutions. They want themselves and others to remain out of the democratic system,” he noted. The opposition leader in the National Assembly, while talking to media person outside the Parliament House, said the JUI-F and other parliamentary parties sitting on the opposition benches should play their role, but they did not utter even a single word against the budget.
“It has established now that the only opposition party in the house is the PML-N. Maulana Fazlur Rehman should not support the government in this manner and they should move cut motions. During the last four years, We played our due role and moved cut motions and gave suggestions but the government never paid heed to the PML-N,” Nisar added. He also came down hard on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Gilani and said the happenings in the National Assembly and the Supreme Court were evident to everyone and these two convicted people were the basic reason behind the current problems.
“Whatever the attorney general did in the Supreme Court today (Thursday) has never happened in the world. This attitude has proved that the rulers and their cronies are among those who breach the law,” the PML-N leader said.
He alleged that President Zardari was an equally involved with Malik Riaz in hatching the conspiracy against the Supreme Court and Chief Justice of Pakistan. He went on to say that he also had the evidence of their involvement, but he would not bring the proof in the court.
To a question regarding the involvement of other institutions in conspiring against the chief justice, the opposition leader said no body in the country, except the president and the prime minister, was threatened by the justice emanating from the Supreme Court. To another question, the opposition leader said it was not the PML-N but people who gave mandate to the PPP or President Zardari. He added that while forming a coalition with the PPP, they presented a condition that Zardari would not be the president; however, he dodged everybody.
Commenting on Malik Riaz investment on Imran Khan, Nisar said the business tycoon might not have given money directly to the PTI chief and probably it was used for public gatherings.
He, however, rejected all the allegations levelled against him for buying plots in the Bahria Town and said when he bought these plots the amount was paid from his account and the one, who handed over the amount, was also alive and could be produced, adding there was no DHA at that time, as it was a residential area for the commoners.
