ISLAMABAD - Chairman Nation­al Accountability Bureau (NAB) Jus­tice (R) Javed Iqbal yesterday chaired a meeting to review the performance of NAB Sukkur espe­cially convictions made under Section 10 of National Accountability Ordi­nance (NAO)-1999 and under Section 25 (B) of NAO-1999 from 2018 to 2020. 

During the meeting, held at the NAB Headquarters here, Mirza Muham­mad Irfan Baig, DG NAB Sukkur, in­formed the meeting that under the dynamic leadership of Chairman NAB, the Sukkur Bureau also identified em­bezzlement of 253,551.7 metric ton wheat amounting to Rs. 27.8 billion out of which an amount of Rs. 19.2 bil­lion has been recovered and handed over to the government of Sindh. 

This recovery was done when there was acute shortage of wheat due to the less production in 2019-2020. The Chief Secretary Sindh has also issued a letter of appre­ciation addressed to the Chairman NAB in this regard.
