LAHORE - The Sapphire Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2022 will roll into action today (Tuesday) here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah. According to Tournament Director Rashid Malik, the players from across Punjab will be seen in action in different age group categories including boys U–18, boys U–18 doubles, girls U–18, boys U–16, boys U–14, boys U–14 doubles, boys/girls U–12, boys/girls U–10, U–8 and U–6. Rashid Malik, who is also PLTA Secretary and former Davis Cupper, said the purpose of holding such championships is to promote tennis at grassroots level. “The junior tennis is flourishing in Pakistan and our junior champions are excelling at international circuit and earning good name for Pakistan globally. “The PLTA is also committed to continue the vision of PTF President Salim Saifullah Khan and PLTA Chairman Rao Iftikhar Ahmad to hold maximum number of national and international events for juniors and hopefully this year too, the PLTA will maintain its record of conducting maximum tennis events and will try to break the previous years’ record,” he asserted. Rashid Malik will inaugurate the event during a colorful ceremony today (Tuesday).
